To bridge the mental health treatment gap in India, IMPACT, Sangath’s research project aims to examine the feasibility and acceptability of the integration of telepsychiatry into primary care services. It will give insights into the acceptability of telepsychiatry and its impact on the end-users. On a broader scale, IMPACT has the potential to inform the further investigation of the intervention through a randomised controlled trial and may have an impact on the policy landscape of India and similar countries.
