Vikram is one of the Co-Founders and was the Chairperson of Sangath earlier. He is a psychiatrist, researcher and currently the Chair of the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine, at Harvard Medical School, USA. He co-founded and had worked as the Director of the Centre for Global Mental Health at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). He was an editor of the Lancet Series on Global Mental Health. He is a member of several Govt. of India committees on public health and mental health. He also serves on three WHO (World Health Organization) committees. In April 2015, he was listed as one of the world’s 100 most influential people by TIME Magazine.
