iHEAR Peers for Equity

Doing research and advocacy for the disability and the LGBTQIA+ communities require more people with lived experiences. Thus, voices from within the communities can represent it best. Sangath is proud to announce iHEAR Peers for Equity (P4E), a community Peer-led initiative where we aim to co-create spaces to develop a cohort of researcher-advocates from both communities through a combination of a short digital course on evidence-based advocacy that is free to access and subsequently a mentored fellowship.

The P4E digital course aims to give community members the tools needed to conduct an action-based project and/ or evidence-based advocacy in the disability LGBTQIA+ communities.

The course comprises short videos of 10-20 minutes each, delivered in simple English, for people without or with minimal prior exposure to research. These videos will be done by people from the communities with research and advocacy experience. We envisage 10 hours of pre-recorded videos and 4 live webinars of 2 hours each delivered over 4 weeks
