The Young People’s Health Survey in collaboration with Sangath and Oxford Brookes University seeks to explore young people’s mental health, physical activity, and use of substances. This survey is a part of the MeWe Sports study at Sangath.
Adolescence and young adulthood are sensitive and vulnerable periods of development. Previous research has shown that mental health and substance use-related problems are often established during adolescence and early adulthood, and can have longer-term health implications. Early intervention is key in preventing adverse effects of substance use. The findings from this study will help develop a sports-based prevention program to reduce substance use and misuse among young people and help improve overall wellbeing and quality of life. The target population for this survey are young people between the ages of 18-24 years, residing in India.
