iHEAR: Intiative for Health Equity, Advocacy & Research

PROJECT OVERVIEW

iHEAR (initiative for Health Equity Advocacy and Research) is a collaborative effort hosted at Sangath that brings together academics, researchers, activists, practitioners and community representatives to conduct participatory research, advocacy and education at the intersection of marginalised identities, health access and mental health.

 

iHEAR was born out of the TransCare iniitiative and currently works with the transgender and disability communities. Therefore, iHEAR builds on and includes work done on the TransCare set of projects which focus on the intersection of trans identities, health access, equity, rights, inclusion, ethics and the need for reform (in health professionals’ education as well as the delivery of health services). The projects under iHEAR and TransCare are listed below.
